Sweet Home Walla Walla Searches the Net…

If you were in Walla Walla on Sunday, you got a small taste of spring with 60 degrees and sun – even the frogs were letting us know they were alive and well. So with spring knocking on our door, it’s time to be thinking about spring cleaning,  sprucing up the yard, etc.

I came across a website that I like and offers some great info for a lot of different house related topics.  Of course this time of year the focus is spring cleaning and doing projects around the house.  The website is www.houselogic.com.  I am posting some info from this website on our Griffith Team w/Windermere Real Estate Facebook page.  If you are a FB user, we invite you to “like” our page.  We post a variety of topics related to real estate on it – hopefully info that most readers would find interesting as it relates to homes and the industry. So in today’s Houselogic.com posts were ideas for back splashes and their costs, siding ideas, remodels for family rooms, tax info and much more.  Check it out!

A note about our market locally…this spring we are seeing more activity and there is a sense of better sales in the air.  Listening to some economists savvy to the real estate world, we are hearing that the market is “on the turn” and on the up swing.  It is a good time to buy because there are great deals and it’s a good time to sell because when you go to purchase – there are some great deals.

So with spring in the air,  and whether or not it prompts you to take on a new home project or buy or sell…it’s a great time to be here in Walla Walla!

Sweet Home Walla Walla in early morning…

Welcome to early morning Walla Walla…

There  is some magic to getting out early in the morning and driving downtown while the light is still dim and the streets are deserted and wet from a nights light drizzle.  Since I am an artist I like to shoot  photos of streets and alleys and reflections in puddles and then use them for reference of future paintings.  One of the things I love about Walla Walla is how the downtown looks at this time of day – the quiet before the morning activity begins.

The major activity is at First and Main with Starbucks’ early coffee crowd and The Olive waking in the early morning ready to start serving.  There is never a worry of a prime parking spot at this time of day!

Drive around the block and maybe up an alley and catch the shadows and reflections…the world is all quiet in anticipation of the day…

Sometime just for fun, get up before dawn and wander the streets and alleys and experience the town from an artist’s point of view.  Look into some puddles and check out the reflections of our world.  Just look!  Its one of the reasons why I love Walla Walla!

Sweet Home Walla Walla

Sweet Home Walla Walla. Why we love it!

Posted on February 14, 2012 Coppei Draw

We are the Griffith Team from Windermere Walla Walla…and we love Walla Walla!

Some of the great things, in our opinion, include the opportunity of home ownership for a broad base of home buyers, the education systems, the wine industry and what that has brought to the valley, the dining options, and more.

When I visit with buyers from out of the area I talk about what I love about the area.  This is a great place to live and raise a family.  We are near the mountains, we have great events throughout the year, we have culturally interesting things happening from theater to dance to rodeos to cycling to wine tasting to….almost anything you want.  And the beauty of it is…you hardly ever have to wait in a long line at the bank or the grocery.  You can easily go to a 6 pm dinner and be at the theater by 8.  You can leave home 15 minutes before you need to be somewhere and be on time.  These things to me mean less stress in your day-to-day routines.  More time to spend doing what’s important to you.  That’s the beauty of living in Walla Walla.  So, do you miss all what a large metro area has to offer?  Not really, because we are not that far from it.  In a matter of 4 hours we can get out fix of city life and then escape!    We love Walla Walla!

About some of my favorite dining spots…If you want to have a great lunch or a light meal try Graze…it’s a small establishment that offers a great menu of sandwiches and salads.  A favorite is the Green Leaf roasted pear salad, the Caesar salad and the Pastrami sandwich. They make great Panini’s and the daily soups are fabulous.  Located a 5 S Colville, you can dine in or call in an order to go.  We sometimes head down there for a supper as well.  They are great people and another thing we love about them is they “give back” … They give a certain amount of  sales during a specific period of time to the Ronald McDonald House in Spokane because that provided them comfortable housing at a point in their lives.  How cool is that?  They make a difference!  Give them a try…you will be pleased with your food!

Just another great thing about Walla Walla!
